Field Service Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Onsite and remote service support for laser systems for scientific and commercial customers
  • Upgrade and repair of laser equipment
  • Troubleshoot electronics at board level, along with troubleshooting electro-optical, electrical and mechanical problems
  • Work at customers sites with sometimes demanding deadlines
  • Extensive travel around the United Kingdom and larger Europe, occasionally other parts of the world, especially California


Skills and Competencies

  • Successfully completed technical studies, ideally in optics or photonics
  • Minimum of two years of service experience
  • Understanding of lasers and computer controlled equipment, with demonstrated practical skills, is highly desirable
  • Laser experience, especially of ultrafast laser technology, would be a major advantage
  • Very high level of technical expertise
